I love this monitor. It is a little slow to start, be sure to wet the strap first. Once you start your warm up it gets going. My favorite fitness tool! I won't exercise without it. It's a great purchase for the price.
I have owned various polar heart monitors over the past decade. This particular band is a huge improvement. The wearlink transmitter detatches. This makes the band and the snaps that hold the transmitter much easier to clean. Also, the strap is one separate integrel unit that doesn't depend on the transmitter to complete the circuit. This makes it easier fot the strap to maintain contact with the skin, and leads to less corosion. All in all a superior product
It is simply the best product anyone can give themselves to workout, because you know exactly what you are doing. It gives you heart rate, calories, fat%, you can gradute so it lets you know on what basis you want to work out.
I wont work with out it
Pros: Does exactly what it says, monitors heart rate, set your own zone and monitors time in that zone, estimates calaries based on your weight, total time excercising (or from when you start monitoring your heart rate until you turn off the monitoring). Strap is easy to adjust and easy to put on. User replaceable batteries. Bought 2 batteries at Walgreens for about $6.
Cons: Does not keep a history of workouts, you of course could write down the information. After the workout the infomation is no longer maintained. I seem to have to make the chest strap very tight or it looses the connection to the watch at higher rates (160+). Even with the strap tight it will sometimes loose the wireless connection until I hold the watch next to the front of the strap.
I probably would not purchase again due to the problem with loosing the signal.
I enjoy using my Polar heart rate monitor. It is the first heart rate monitor I have ever purchased as I needed it for a college class. It is simple and easy to use. I wish it did have an alarm on it, but I guess I would have had to pay more for a heart rate monitor with an alarm.
I only use the basic features of this watch, so far, and I love it. I use it for every workout now-- seems very accurate. Very easy to use. Easy to read. Good size for a small wrist. I would recommend it 100%.
This is an awesome fitness tool. It is very accurate, easy to use, and comfortable to wear. It syncs with the gym machines so you can see your heart rate on the screen versus the watch...this is very cool for me. It also gives you weekly reports :o) I love it!!
Awesome about sums it up. This product is ready to go and very user friendly. The feature of H/R zone (5) plus chrono is great.
If your thinking about a top end H/R monitor at a budgit price this is it. Polars are so over rated! Come on, a Polar with with same features will run you well over a $100.00.
I'm a 5'9" small-framed athlete, and I could not wear this watch. There simply weren't enough holes in the band for it to sit flush on my wrist. Not to mention the strap is looooooooooooong. I mean, comically long. My 5'7" male trainer put it on and was on one of the first holes. If your wrist is remotely small, there will be a huge excess of strap hanging off the end, and due to the design, it would look wrong if cut off. I had to return it. Too bad - the face size is nice for a woman's small wrist, but with the seemingly dozen other holes in the band, I had to wonder - if you're using the outermost hole, well that would look ridiculous. The face would then look miniscule on that wrist.
I have a much older version that has worked perfectly for several years. This new one has the advantage of the 30 lap memory. You can get your time and average heart rate for every split and the overall run. You also get min, average and max heart rate for the run. My monitor works great, is reasonably comfortable to wear and is easy to read when running. I highly recommend it.
